My Two MVP's

Well, Daniel got some new hockey equipment yesterday & Brenden was so excited about it. He couldn't wait to play! They were out in the garage taking some shots & having such a good time. I love watching the two of them play together-it just melts my heart!!

I started trimming the bushes out front while they were playing. I love doing yard work! Anyway, Daniel came over while I was trying to reach the back of the bushes, which go up against the front of the house. Instead of trying to help, he decides to play like he is going to push me into them. Keep in mind, I am trimming the bushes with this electrical hedge trimmer thing that goes really fast & is pretty darn sharp ;) Well, as he tried to "play like" he was pushing me in, I slung that thing around, to "play like" (that's what he thinks anyway) I was going to get him with it. Well, he lets go of me & I do fall into the bushes!! Go ahead, laugh :) It was funny actually, although I have a few scrapes on my arms. I'm sure I looked pretty crazy chasing him around the yard with the hedge trimmer after I climbed out of the bushes!

Joanna, this is for you...We were sitting down for dinner last night & Brenden walks over to the table with his play phone against his ear. He was just talking up a storm. He looked at us & said he was talking to his friend. I asked him which friend he was talking to & he smiled & said Kadence! I thought it was pretty cute. So let her know that Brenden said hi!

Ok, I feel like a terrible Mom & I don't know why I am about to tell this, but here it goes. I went & bought some children's liquid Zyrtec for Brenden last night. The doctor told me to give him some because of his allergies being bad lately. As I got into bed, something made me think of how much I gave to him before he went to bed. It said to give kids his age 1/2 a teaspoon every 24hrs, & that's what the doc said too. Well, the cup that came with it has markings for 1tsp & 2tsp (I didn't see the marking for 1/2tsp on the side of the cup at the time). I think I just thought the lower marking was for his 1/2tsp dose, so I filled it up to that line. I gave him too much!!! I ran into his room to make sure he was breathing then went to tell Daniel. He said he is just fine & will be ok-don't worry. HAHA-SURE!! I just couldn't sleep. I gave him a double dose-I have to worry! I got back out of bed & I called the poison control. He said it would be ok & that nothing serious would happen. I went back into his room & checked on him again. During the night I heard him cough like two times & I said thank you Lord!! :) He is fine, just like Daniel said he would be! I was so scarred last night. I will start double checking the doses from now on!

Not too much going on this weekend. We have a garage sale at my parent's house tomorrow, so hopefully that will go well. The Star's first game of the second round is tonight!!!! Go Stars!!

Feeling Better

Munchkin wasn't feeling too well this weekend. Saturday afternoon we went to the Main Street Arts Festival & it was way too crowded! Way more than it has been in the years past. That many people packed onto one street-Not fun!! Brenden didn't want to walk most of the time, so we carried him (didn't know he didn't feel well at the time). Daniel got his foot spit on by some dude walking in front of him-not intentionally-his foot was just in the line of fire. It was gross! He said it was white & had something in it. Nasty!!! Anyway, we only stayed there for maybe 30 minutes then left & went other places.

That night Brenden started feeling bad & had a fever. Sunday was spent at home, on the couch, or in bed. He continued to run a fever & cough a little. I think he may have had pink eye too. Poor little man! I feel so bad for him when he doesn't feel good. He actually fell asleep in our bed! He has never done that! He climbed up into the bed as I was getting lunch together & told me to come look. When I was finally able to come look at him (two minutes later) he was zonked out! He had an early, and really good, nap. He seems to be feeling better today!

Stars Are On Fire!!!

The Dallas Stars are hot! I can't tell you how excited I am that they have made it to the second round in the playoffs! They have not made it through the first round since 2000. It was an amazing game last night. The Ducks didn't get a shot on goal for almost 25 minutes! I am so happy for the team. I think we finally have guys that all work together & just feed off each other. Morrow was so excited when Modano scored that last(empty net) goal! It's awesome seeing them so happy for each other. I can't wait to see who we will play in the next round! I really, really can't wait to go to one of the games :)

Speaking of...I have to tell y'all what Brenden did last week. Daniel & him drove through CVS to pick up his prescription. When Daniel told them he was there to pick up a prescription for Brenden Crow-he got pretty angry with Daniel & said "not Brenden Crow, Brenden Morrow"! haha We tell him he was named after Morrow, but he has a different last name. He's not buyin' it though!

Mumbo Jumbo

Just a few miscellaneous thoughts...

First of all, as you can see, I changed the background template. Why didn't anyone tell me it would be a great idea to save the previous one first!?! It would have been great. It deleted all of the links to the blogs I read & also deleted all the pics on the side! Not funny!! Atleast I don't have a billion links or anything, so it wasn't too hard to remember them all ;) Once I get home, I need to upload some new pics to the side & I will be done!

More storms coming tonight...again! I've always loved rain & storms, but tornadoes-not so much! They kinda make me freak out! Thank goodness I have family & friends that freak out too :) lol My cousin in-law will be coming over tonight, until the storms pass!

Daniel & Brenden cleaned out the garage last night & it looks beautiful! They wanted to get it to where I could park my car in there. It'll make me feel a little more safe. I will still find something to worry about though, I promise! Like this... I worry that when I pull into the garage someone will run in behind my car as I am closing it. The when I get out, I am stuck inside my garage with this stranger & I can't run away. See, I told ya. I'm not crazy though. Really! Daniel will try to tell you otherwise.

We will be going to the Main St. Art's Festival this weekend! It's always a lot of fun. We are taking Brenden with us this year. I think he will really enjoy it! I will take the camera & hopefully have some good pics to share!

I miss my little man

This post is really just to make myself feel better I think. I so miss Brenden right now! I just want to leave & go pick him up & not ever let go of him. I know everyone says the time will fly by. I know it has & I know it will continue to. I just pray I am able to take in every minute that I can & spend as much time with him that I am able. We are so thankful that God has blessed us with this amazing, giving, funny, adorable, smart, energetic, loving little man! We thank him all the time, but for some reason I feel like it's not enough. We are crazy about him! He is growing up so fast & it is so fun being a part of it. I hope I can be there for him always. I just want to eat him up sometimes! Every once in a while I ask him if I can eat him & he puts his chin up to my mouth! :) Anyway, I could go on with this all day. I was just trying to make myself feel a little better & not guilty for being at work. I'm not thinkin' it worked very well! I only have a couple more hours till I can be with him! Can't wait...

Love Nest

We still have our Christmas garland hanging in the arch above our front door! Not because we're lazy or anything like that...we have had two finches living in there since before Christmas! It is so cute! I just can't take it down. There was only one at first-he is just normal finch colors. I named him Petie (Sneaky Pete is his real name cause he has been pretty sneaky, but I've shortened the name a little) Then every once in a while a red one would show up. She would only stay for one night at a time & come back a few nights later. So...I named her Booty Call! lol She has been coming to stay every night for quite a while. They get so snuggled up in the garland. They have been security for the house too. When the pizza man, or chinese food man, or any other man comes to the door, they fly out really fast right in front of their face! haha I love them! I thought since it got warmer that they would leave us, but I guess not. It's nice having them around! We have tried to take pictures of them, but they turn out too dark :(

Ten Years Ago Today...

Little did I know, ten years ago today at Redbird Skateland in Duncanville, TX, I would meet the man I would spend the rest of my life with.

We were at hockey practice & I had gone out to the car to wait for my parents & brother. A guy(who I had noticed several times before) walked up beside the car & I shut my door, thinking he was getting in the car next to us. Then he knocked on my window. I opened the door & he asked me for my number. I would never recommend the response I gave him...I asked him "why"? Seriously, I had to ask why?!?! haha He could have just ended it there, but he said "so I can call you"! Oh, duh! lol And he did, he called me that night! He told me he was 16, which wasn't too bad, with me being 14. But, I found out later that he would be turning 17 in two days. Sneaky! I continued to let my dad think he was 16 a little longer than he was :) Well, now it's ten years later. We've been through heartache, excitement, pain, firsts, nervousness, happiness, changes & SO much love!

I love this man so much more than I could ever explain & I feel so blessed that God put us both in the right place at the right time! I could not imagine my life & our family any different than it is today.

"A B C...R 6 9"

We have been teaching Brenden the ABC's & he does really well, but he does like to mix it up a little. He gets all the way through G & then decides to throw in a different letter (which is usually R) & adds in a number or two (which is always 6 & 9). I'm not sure why! It's so cute though! He does get a lot of the letters right & in the order they're supposed to be. The letters at the end are W X Y J! lol Just in case anyone needed a refresher on the alphabet!
